FIREFIGHTING TEAM TRAINING IN HIGH RISK ACTIVITIES

    The course provides the firefighting team members with an adequate firefighting training session in accordance with the Ministerial Decree 64, March 10th, 1998.

    Fire and prevention

     

    • Principles of combustion
    • Main causes of fire in relation to the specific work environment
    • Extinguishing substances
    • Risks for people and environment
    • Specific fire prevention measures
    • Behavioural measures to prevent fire
    • The importance of work environment control
    • The importance of firefighting devices maintenance

     

    Fire protection

     

    • Passive protection measures
    • Escape routes, compartmentation, distances
    • Fire extinguishing equipment/systems
    • Alarm systems
    • Safety and health signs
    • Emergency lighting
    • Electrical security installations

     

     

    Procedures to be adopted in case of fire

     

    • Procedures to be adopted when a fire is discovered
    • Procedures to be adopted in case of alert
    • Evacuation procedures
    • Emergency Services call
    • Collaboration with the Fire Service in case of intervention
    • Illustration of an emergency situations and measures to be adopted

     

    Practical sessions

     

    • Clarifications on firefighting equipment and installations
    • Personal Protective Equipment
    • Training in the use of firefighting equipment and Personal Protective equipment
    • Use of powder extinguisher
    • Fire extinction-Use of hoses (on a pile)
    • Intervention of extinction on an electric box simulator in a closed environment (through CO2 extinguishers)
    • Intervention in a room filled with smoke and use of respiratory protective devices
    • Use of hoses and hydrants, techniques of withdrawal and retraction
